Curtin University – School of Design & the Built Environment

The new facility for Curtin’s University’s School of Design and the Built Environment (DBE) sits in the heart of the University’s dedicated innovation precinct, and exemplifies what it is to be an adaptive environment.

The primary area where students circulate is an actively changing space, supporting a wide range of learning activities including presentations, informal learning, crits, discussions and classes.

Our solid Sliders and 100 Series Operable walls have been integrated into some of the tutorial rooms, physically dividing the space as needed and providing acoustic comfort to an area which houses a lot of busy minds learning at once.

The ability to divide one multipurpose space into various configurations is invaluable in a learning environment such as this, and allows students and teachers to be agile to different activities and opportunities as they arise. Operable Walls have been finished in Forbo Bulletin Board (Lettuce colour) with Porcelain whiteboard to facilitate on the spot collaborations and brainstorms.
