Epping Secondary College – Flexible Education Design
Epping Secondary College was established in 1976 and is located in Melbourne’s Northern suburbs, which have seen substantial growth in infrastructure over the past 15 years. Crosier Scott Architects were engaged to design a bespoke Senior Building for Year 12 with a view to support them in their final year of school. The vision was to create a series of purpose-built spaces where students could study, learn, and relax with their peers, as well as unique individual spaces to support the transition to an autonomous tertiary education model.
Lotus products specified included Opera Glass moveable walls and 100 Series Operable Walls to encapsulate flexibility within the Senior Building.
The ease with which our panels can move means the space can be transformed for a variety of purposes quickly and efficiently, supporting the students and teachers to thrive in their new environment.
The Opera glass walls meet the illumination design brief by maximising the transfer of natural light between the learning areas. Acoustic Operable Walls were also used in conjunction with our Opera glass walls, installed between learning areas to provide inter-class teaching or larger group projects when required.
